About the Program
The Career Planning Program aims to equip students from classes 8 to 12 in Government High Schools and
Pre-University
colleges in Karnataka with the necessary resources, guidance, and counselling support to facilitate informed
career
decision-making based on their interests and aptitudes.
The primary objective is to develop and implement scalable career guidance models that can effectively cater
to students
in schools and colleges across the state. The salient features of this program are,
Classroom Orientation
Regular Facilitator-led Orientations to Jobs in 24 Sectors
Dedicated Online Portal
Access to Career Resources and in-depth information on over 500 Job Roles across Sectors
One-on-One Counselling
Career Mentor-led One-on-One Counselling sessions to facilitate students make well-informed
academic and
career
decisions
Program Offerings
- The program will include one-on-one career decision-making sessions with each student.
- This process will help students identify their interests, strengths, and weaknesses and explore different
career
options
available to them.
- The program will also include workshops, seminars, and guest lectures by professionals from various fields.
These
sessions will allow students to interact with professionals from different fields and learn about their
experiences.
- The program aims to ensure that these outcomes are achieved for each student and will be designed separately
for
each
grade/class.
- Additionally, the program will provide information about courses available after 10th and 12th grade and about
various
entrance exams that students can take up.
